sesame chicken- without ordering take out

November 25, 2015 by lorrin sell 1 Comment

That’s a wrap, folks!!!  Crock pot recipes (this is my slow cooker, and I love that it is programmable, and has a few different settings.  I also love that it has the clasps on the side so that you can secure it if you travel to a pot luck or something) !!  Which one was your favorite?? Was it the chicken chili, enchilada soup, pulled pork, or something else??

On to the recipe at hand!!!  Wild thing #2 is completely obsessed with sesame chicken, and has been begging me to make it, and I haven’t had the chance so when I figured out I could make it in the crock pot, it was game on!!

Sesame chicken

i love sesame chicken, and so do my kids. i love that i can make it in the slow cooker!

ingredients

    • 3 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts trimmed of fat
    • 1 cup of honey
    • 1/2 cup soy sauce
    • 1 TBSP garlic powder
    • 2 heaping TBSP of ketchup
    • 1 TBSP sesame oil

Place chicken in the crock pot.  In a medium bowl stir together the rest of the ingredients and pour over the chicken.  This recipe doesn’t take as long as the others, so if you are starting this in the morning, I would definitely cook on low 4 hours or high 2-3.  About 30 minutes prior to serving, remove chicken from crock pot, and cut into chunks.  Return to crock pot, and stir.  Cook for an additional 30 minutes.  Serve over rice.
