This time of year is my favorite!  I love all the hustle and bustle, and the get-togethers.  There really isn’t anything better than being surrounded by the people you love.  This year when you plan your Christmas party, add a little more fun to your party with a diy photo booth.  It doesn’t have to take too much space, and it guarantees you have pictures from the day!

Adding a DIY Christmas party photo booth to your Christmas party is such a fun way to make sure you capture all of your guests! #photobooth #Christmasphotobooth #diyphotobooth

supplies

  • 3M command picture hanging strips
  • 3M command clear hooks with medium strips (holds up to 2 pounds)
  • 2 strands of battery operated lights
  • garland
  • white butcher paper, white wrapping paper, etc (as wide as possible)
  • fun Christmas props
  • selfie stick

Directions

  1. Find a place that has plenty of light.  This can be natural light if your party is during the day, or a room with a lot of light even in the evening.
  2.  Attach the butcher paper using 3M command picture hanging strips (By the way, if you’re looking for more great stuff by 3M command brand, you definitely want to check out this link!!).  If you haven’t heard me mention it before, these things are AMAZING!!  Attach one side to the wall, and one too the back of your paper.  Make sure you allow enough time for the strip to properly attach to the wall before attaching your backdrop.  They’re similar to velcro and hold so much stronger than tape.  PLUS, they don’t leave any marks or holes in your wall when you are ready to take everything down.  I made sure by backdrop was high enough for tall guests.  We found our 3M command strips easily at Target.  If you’re getting excited about all the possibilities that await your future now that you’ve discovered command strips (believe me when I say, I have ideas of how to use these all over my house.  No joke.  You can ask my mom, and pretty much anyone I have come in contact with recently because I am officially obsessed!), Target will be running on sale on them in their circular ad the week of November 26- December 2 for 5% off.  Photo booths are so much fun! You can easily make your own and add even more fun to your Christmas party!
Note: The focus of the photo booth should be your guests and your fun props.  The backdrop should give them a place with less distractions to take the picture.  This is one of the reasons I chose to use a white backdrop with just a little bit of Christmas fun added to it.  The other reason is it brightens up the scene.Photo booths are so much fun! 3. Attach the 3M command picture hanging strips to the walls on both sides of your backdrop.  I used 3 to drape the garland, and lights across the backdrop.Photo booths are so much fun! You can easily make your own and add even more fun to your Christmas party!
  4. Fill a basket with tons of fun props.Photo booths are so much fun! You can easily make your own and add even more fun to your Christmas party!
  5. Come up with a fun hashtag so that your guests can add their pictures to social media, and everyone has access to them! It’s the perfect way for everyone to see the fun!scripture-prints
  6. Create a list of photo booth “rules”.  Of course, I may sound like a bit of a control freak, and I may even actually be a bit of a control freak, but hear me out!  This is a place for you to let everyone know your hashtag.  It’s also a place to give everyone a little direction with their pictures.  Adding “FILL THE FRAME” to the list will remind your guests to get nice and close.  Photo booths are meant to be tight spaces, and the more you squish into tiny spaces, the more fun!!Photo booths are so much fun! 7. Have fun!!  I love a good photo booth.  It’s one time most people aren’t embarrassed to have their pictures taken.  Now that everyone has a camera on their phones, there’s no limit to how many pictures you can take.Photo booths are so much fun!
