We don’t do a whole lot of baking in our home, but when I come up with something that takes a couple of minutes to make, and is borderline homemade, I’m all over it!  These chocolate covered Nature Valley™ Oats N Honey Granola Bars are delicious, healthy, and insanely easy to make!

Chocolate Covered Nature

Valley™ Oats N Honey Granola

Bars

ingredients

  • 12 Nature Valley™ Oats N Honey Granola Bars
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • sprinkles (optional but super cute!)

directions

1. Break up your oats n honey bars into smaller pieces.  This doesn’t have to be perfect, mine were all different sizes.  I broke them into 2- 3 pieces each. This recipe for chocolate covered oats and honey granola bars is delicious, healthy, and so easy to make!!

We found our oats and honey at Walmart on a giant Box Tops for Education display with a ton of other goodies that have Box Tops on them.  If you haven’t heard about Box Tops, they’re on the top of participating items, and you turn the into your kid’s school to help the school earn money.  And, NOW, there’s even an app (you can get it for apple or android), and it lets you scan your receipt for extra Box Top credit.  In this case, Walmart is offering Buy special 5 Box Top products , scan your receipt, and the school gets 50 extra points.  That’s pretty cool (especially since I don’t have to worry about sending the receipt in to the school for the extra credit.  In case you hadn’t noticed, I like when things make my life easier!  This does!)  It’s not hard to find 5 things to buy with Box Tops.  In our house, it’s the Pillsbury™ Toaster Strudel™- 12 ct., Old El Paso™ Taco Dinner Kit, Mott’s® Fruit Medleys- Mega 40 ct., General Mills Honey Nut Cheerios™- Family Size, and, of course, Nature Valley Oats N Honey – Variety Pack 12 ct.

Isn’t my little helper the best?  Putting away groceries is one of my least favorite chores. This recipe for chocolate covered oats and honey granola bars is delicious, healthy, and so easy to make!!

2. In a glass container, melt your chocolate chips.  I put them in the microwave for 30 sec at a time, stirring in between.  It took me 1.5 minutes for them to fully melt.  The third time I pulled them out of the microwave they still seemed like they weren’t finished, but once I started mixing, I could tell they would be.  Be careful not to overcook them in the microwave. This recipe for chocolate covered oats and honey granola bars is delicious, healthy, and so easy to make!!

3. Spread a thin layer of chocolate over the bars. This recipe for chocolate covered oats and honey granola bars is delicious, healthy, and so easy to make!!

4. Sprinkle the wet chocolate with sprinkles. This recipe for chocolate covered oats and honey granola bars is delicious, healthy, and so easy to make!!

5. Refrigerate until the chocolate is solid.

That’s it!  Does it get any easier than that??  I doubt it, and they are a favorite of everyone in our home.

xo, Lorrin
