It’s hump day!!!  All kinds of craziness is happening in the Sell house on this lovely day.  One of my children is eating an apple with no hands, while the others laugh hysterically at him.  You know, I should probably break this up because it’s getting a little rowdy but they’re occupied.  I’m not messing with a good thing- even if a piece of apple just shot across the room and landed on my shoulder (I really can’t make this stuff up..)

Before all of this craziness started, I decided to work on a little project I had seen on pinterest or wild thing #1’s room.  He is 12, and would love to have posters hanging from his walls and tape every thing he was ever given to his wall, but i just can’t even go there.  Like I mentioned, I saw this super simple idea for a photo display on pinterest, and I can’t find it to link, so I’m sorry I can’t give credit to the original post.

I am all about printing your pictures and displaying them.  This literally took me less than 20 minutes to make, and it is perfect because he can use it to hang pictures, notes, tickets, invitations, pretty much anything you would hang on a bulletin board!  I love that it will be super easy for him to change out the pictures, and there aren’t any holes from push pins in anything (not even the walls if you are smart and use the command strips instead of the nails!).

Supplies

• small nails (ETA..  after using 3M command strips to hang pictures, and other various things from my walls, I would use those instead of nails now.  Honestly, this trick would make the project even easier, and if you ever change your mind, there are no holes in your walls.  I’m downright obsessed with these things!!)
• jute
• paper clips  (i used these adorable camera paper clips)

Directions

1.  Randomly hammer in 10 or more nails (or use command strips!!) on the wall you are using to make your display.  This is really what makes this so easy.  It doesn’t have to be perfect.  Make sure you leave the nails out 1/4- 1/2″ so there is room to wrap the jute around.
2. Tie the end of the jute around one of the nails, and start randomly wrapping around nails that you haven’t gotten to yet. It’s like playing connect the dots, except you’re not trying to create a specific picture.  You can just do what looks right to you.  I left the jute attached to the spool until I was finished because I wanted to make sure I had enough.
3. Make a border around the outside nails. This is, again, up to you, but I felt like it sort of finished mine off.
4. Tie the loose end to the last nail, and cut the leftover jute.
5. Attach pictures, awards, etc. with paper clips.  This is the perfect way for him to display all of the sports’ pictures we have no idea what do with!
