Since our family started camping a few years ago, I have spent a lot of time coming up with the best camp gift ideas for kids. Having suggestions to offer family members when they ask what the kids would like for their birthdays, Christmas, and other occasions is a must! When I can turn those suggestions into something I know the kids will get a ton of use out of, and will not land in a pile of toys for donations, I am super pumped. Whether they’re hitting the teenage years, or quite a bit younger, these camp gift ideas for kids are sure to please anyone who loves camping as much as we do!

1. A headlamp
One year for Christmas, all of the boys got headlamps. They’re perfect! The kids put them on their heads, and they don’t have to worry about dropping them when they’re running around after the sun goes down.
2. A safety whistle
If your kids are going to be walking around a campground by themselves or even with a buddy, or hiking a bit on their own, a whistle is a must! (it’s also a perfect stocking stuffer!

While it might seem silly, it’s pretty stinking cool! If you’re camping on cold nights, your big kids will love this!
5. Camping Chair
You’d be surprised how pumped my kids were to get their own camping chairs. We had a few cheap ones that were falling apart, but one year they were each gifted their own “nice” camping chair. Those things get used too! Soccer games, camping trips, tailgating, beach trips, you name it- they’re packed!
5. Shoe lights
This could either make hide and seek in the dark much harder, or so much cooler. Either way, I’m all over these!
