Kalahari Resorts | Poconos

Land Of Nod: Design for Kids and People That Used to be Kids
I have already had it with winter, and it’s only January.  Don’t judge!  I’m not made for winter.  I miss the colors green, and blue, and sweat–  I miss sweating.  True story.

I know some of you love winter, so don’t hate on me for saying it isn’t for me. If the decision were mine alone, I wouldn’t live where it snowed, but it’s not, so I take what I can get in terms of a break from winter.  Kalahari Resorts was the perfect way for us to take a break from winter.  We didn’t even have to catch a plane to find warm “weather”.  It was amazing!

We loved the indoor water park at Kalahari Resort in the Poconos. It was the perfect winter escape, and we didn't even have to catch a plane!

5 reasons to visit the Kalahari

Resort in Poconos, PA

  1.  You can pretend it’s not winter for the weekend.

It’s so nice and warm in there, you could easily forget it’s actually winter outside.  I mean, where else can you walk around in your bathing suit in the middle of January.

  2. So much to do under one roof.

From dining options, to the arcade, to mini golf, to SPAS!! you literally do not have to leave the Kalahari Resorts once you park your car–  and you won’t want to!

  3. A huge water park.

And it’s growing.  They are adding a wave pool, several new sides, making the lazy river even bigger.  The kids and I were in awe looking at the size of the park as is.  Once it’s done, it’s going to be incredible!

  4. Spend some fun, quality time with the family!

I was so pleasantly surprised to see my kids getting along with each other and not fighting.  It’s not often that happens in the middle of winter when they all have cabin fever!

  5. There is something for everyone!

Regardless of your age, there is something for everyone to do there.  Kids of all ages love the water park.  I was traveling with 4 kids ages 12-3 and every one of them had fun in the water park.  There were slides adventurous enough for the most daring 12 (or adult–  I was positively terrified riding one with wild thing #1), and just adventurous enough for a 3 year old. There was even a section for the littlest water lovers!

If water isn’t your thing, there was an arcade, and mini golf.  For those looking adult fun, there were pool bars, and the spa.
